DAY 1
A beautiful city which is known for its academic achievements and universities: Cambridge in Cambridgeshire, UK! And that is the place where we are staying for more than a week.
Our trip begun at the Airport Innsbruck where we waved our parents goodbye. Anyhow, the flight appeared pretty short to us, even though it took two hours. Unfortunately, one of our classmates was ill and had to throw up often. I think we all felt very sad for him. Then, when we arrived in London, Heathrow, we had another unfortunate incident: A girl had forgotten her passport on the plane and so we all had to wait for 1 hour. But the waiting time was pretty funny! After they had found the passport again, we went to the coach pick-up point. To our surprise, it was a classic double-decker bus. But also these two hours went by quickly. For example because of Ms. Mair's speaking-into-a-microphone skills. She shouted very loud and thought we wouldn't hear her. And then she shouted even louder and my ears were hurting the whole evening. Then, when we arrived in Cambridge, taxis were already there, which was very pleasant because we were all pretty tired. Another really nice point of the first day was that the taxi driver was notably friendly. He showed us some Highlights about the area we were driving by and he even accompanied us to the door of the house of our host family. After such a long day we both were very, tired and fell asleep soon.

Today was the big day. Although our flight was at 4 pm, I was excited the whole morning. I checked four or five times if I had everything with me, but then it was time to go. I stressed my mum all day long so that I would arrive on time at the airport. At 1:30 we picked up Benjamin and went to Innsbruck Airport. Fortunately, we arrived on time but everyone was already there. All the pupils were so happy that they could finally fly to Britain.
However, there was only one problem. We had to wait for two hours until finally it was time to board. Some of our classmates flew for the first time, so it was a special adventure for them. The only problem we had at that time was the so-called “Föhn” which caused quite a shaky take-off.
The rest of the flight was calm and it ended at London Heathrow at 5 pm. Afterwards we had to wait for 45 minutes because a classmate had lost her passport on the airplane and so she had to return to the BA service desk and hope they would find it. Fortunately, they did and we could start our coach ride from London to Cambridge. Because of a traffic jam we arrived in Cambridge at around 8 o’clock. Just a few minutes later a taxi took us to our host families.
Mrs Morfill was already waiting for us, showed us the house, which is tiny but comfortable. Afterwards she cooked baked beans on toast and told us which bus we should take to get to EC-school on time. Benjamin, Simon and I were very tired so we went to bed very early.
I’m very excited about what the next few days will be like.
