Day 8

MONDAY 20th

Movie Afternoon

The eighth day was the first day which began cold and foggy. Our school started at 9 o'clock. We learned something about the present perfect tense and we had to ask our mates about their favourite music. It finished at 13:20 and we had time to enjoy the sun or go for  lunch until 3 p.m. Some of us went to McDonalds or to Subway or to other restaurants.
We met in front of the EC-school before we went to the cinema which is called "Picture House". You can compare it with the "Leo-Kino". The teachers had bought the tickets so we straight went up to  screen 3 and the film began. The room was half filled by us and three other people. The film was called "Dark Horse". It told the true story of a little Welsh village and the barmaid Jan, who bred the race-horse Dream Alliiance. This was a really good race-horse, it was always in the top ten. But one time the horse tore his tendons and couldn't walk any longer. But the people who had bought the horse paid  for an operation and after six months the horse won its first race... .The film was quite old and it wasn't liked by a lot of pupils.
After the showing, some of our mates went through Cambridge to buy a souvenir or went shopping or they took the bus home.
