Welcome to our diary.

Day 1

First we met our teachers and classmates at Innsbruck Airport at around 2.00 p.m.. Then we checked in and got our boarding cards. Everybody was really nervous and excited, At 3.50 p.m. our airplane was ready to start to London. The flight was really pleasant. When we arrived at London Heathrow Airport at around 6.00 p.m., we were picked up by a coach. To get to Cambridge took us approximately 2 hours.

On Mansell Way we had to wait shortly for the taxis to take us to our host families. When we arrived there, we were served dinner. Our roommate and I spent our first night with our host family. A first chitchat to get to know each other.

Meeting at 2p.m. at the airport in Innsbruck meant for all of us that we had enough time to sleep in, pack our belongings or to just relax for some time since we had no school in the morning. Sadly, Joseph was not able to come with us to Cambridge because a bad ear infection prevented him to travel.

After saying farewell to our friends and family in Austria we went on a one-hour flight to London Heathrow, which went smoothly with barely no troubles. Then we quickly got  our luggage and passed on to a two-hour bus ride to Cambridge. Since it was raining and the mist blocked our sight there wasn’t much we could see of Cambridge. When we arrived at a small church we waited for taxis to take us to our host families one after another.

As René and I arrived at 20 Rowlinson Way, we were kindly received by our hosts. After we had eaten and chatted for a while, our host mother gave us all the info we needed to survive the following days. Afterwards we went to our cosy little room with pink walls and pink wallpaper and slowly realised that we still had to write a report about that day...
